Communication and engagement

We talk to our team about our company results, major business decisions and other things that affect them through many different channels, including discussion groups, town hall meetings, conferences, newsletters and e-bulletins. We also continue to track engagement levels and listen to employee feedback through our employee survey. We continue to carry out and respond to staff surveys, reviewing regularly the progress that has been made in response to the feedback received.


In our 2019 financial year, we reviewed the ScS employee benefits and enhanced our current offering for all colleagues at the end of July. Employees received an increase to their holiday entitlement and were given access to a new benefits platform offering discounts over a wide range of goods and services. Our Share Incentive Plan was also relaunched to invite employees to take advantage of buying shares in ScS Group plc.

Training and development

Having the best team in our sector means that we have to retain and develop the right people and help them become as good as they can be. Developments in our training offering includes working with business coaches to inspire success in our branch managers and senior management team. We will soon also be introducing a new induction and on-boarding process to give people joining our business even more support to make sure they can make the best possible start.

Gender diversity

We monitor gender diversity across the business. In 2019 our gender balance remained unchanged with 33% of our workforce being female. A full gender pay gap report is available in the corporate governance section.

Health and wellbeing

With wellbeing and health being very important to us, we provide access to employee assistance to all of our colleagues. Our employee assistance programme allows early access to counselling services which can provide support and guidance on a large range of matters including mental health and debt advice.
